This website is deliberately simple. It sets no cookies, uses no analytics or tracking tools, has no forms and embeds no content from other providers. Even the typeface is delivered with the website itself rather than loaded from a third-party server. Personal data is therefore only processed when you open our pages and when you get in touch with us.

This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. The provider is Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA.

When you open a page, Cloudflare automatically processes the data needed to deliver it: your IP address, the date and time of the request, the page requested, the page you came from (referrer) and details of your browser and operating system. The page cannot be delivered without this data, and Cloudflare also uses it to protect the website against attacks and abuse. We do not analyse this data ourselves or combine it with other data.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is providing the website securely and reliably. We have a data processing agreement with Cloudflare under Art. 28 GDPR. Data may be transferred to the USA in the process; Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, on the basis of which (Art. 45 GDPR) the transfer takes place. When you contact us by email, phone or fax, we process the details you give us, such as your name, contact details and the content of your enquiry, in order to deal with it. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your enquiry relates to a contract or to steps prior to one, and otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR: our legitimate interest in answering enquiries.

We delete this data once it is no longer needed for your enquiry, unless statutory retention periods, for example under commercial and tax law, require otherwise. We do not pass it on without your consent.

On our careers page we invite you to apply by email. We process the data in your application, such as your name, contact details, CV and certificates, to decide on an apprenticeship or employment. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.

If we hire you, your documents become part of your personnel file. Otherwise we delete them no later than six months after the application process ends, unless you have agreed to us keeping them longer.

We set no cookies and store no information on your device. There is no audience measurement, no advertising tracking and no social media plugins.

In a few places our pages link to other services, for example to Google Maps for directions. No data is sent to those providers unless you follow such a link; from then on, the respective provider is responsible for processing your data.

The connection to this website is encrypted with TLS, recognisable by “https://” in the address bar, so data exchanged between your browser and the website cannot be read by third parties.

You have the right to access the data we hold about you (Art. 15 GDPR), and to rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20 GDPR). Just get in touch using the contact details above.

Right to object: where we process data on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, you may object to this processing at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR).

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the Unabhängiges Datenschutzzentrum Saarland (datenschutz.saarland.de).
